Brandon’s parents were horrified when they found out their son will be moving out, and fans think they just don’t want to pay for farm help.
On a recent episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, Brandon Gibbs and Julia Trubkina finally broke the news to Brandon’s parents that they’re moving out, and fans were shocked by their response. Instead of being proud of their son’s new independence, Brandon’s meddlesome mom Betty and dad Ron were upset to hear their son will be leaving home. However, fans were critical of the Gibbs’ motivation and think they’re just mad to be losing out on free labor for their farm.
This season, Julia has been putting pressure on Brandon to get an apartment for the two of them so they can finally move out. But Brandon’s parents doubt his capabilities and have tried to dissuade the couple from moving off the farm. In the latest episode, Brandon and Julia took his parents to see an apartment but didn’t tell them they had already signed the lease. Unsurprisingly, Betty and Ron tried to talk them out of it again and were shocked to find out it was already a done deal.

Though in the past Brandon’s feud with his parents divided viewers, now, they’re not so divided. Fans on Reddit spoke about how selfish Brandon’s parents were acting, and think they’re just upset to be losing out on free labor from Brandon and Julia. In the scene, Betty laments that she and Ron will have to go back to doing all the chores themselves, and fans were over it. “Oh whah! Now WE have to take care of animals that WE bought ourselves bc WE wanted this ‘farm’ in the first place,” a fan commented.
Many fans couldn’t understand why Betty and Ron are so attached to their farm. “I don’t understand why they keep all the animals,” a fan wondered. “All they do is complain about the work involved. They could sell them.” After all, Betty and Ron were the ones to make the decision to operate a farm, they shouldn’t just assume that Brandon will want the same life. Brandon is in his late 20s, and it’s strange that his parents would be surprised by his desire to gain some independence.
Ron and Betty Gibbs’ behavior on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? is making more and more viewers side with Brandon and Julia. If Brandon’s parents are really having that hard of a time taking care of the farm themselves, then they should do what every other business does—hire some help, key word hire. At the very least it would help them earn back some respect from fans of the show, and perhaps repair their relationship with Brandon and Julia.
