One Animal Crossing couple got an unexpected guest at their wedding anniversary celebrations, as Gulliver chose that moment to wash up on their shore.
A beautiful moment for one Animal Crossing: New Horizons couple has been somewhat spoiled by Gulliver, as the wayward seagull unexpectedly gate-crashed their beach-side wedding anniversary celebrations. The charming ambiance that comes from Animal Crossing: New Horizons is something incredibly special. As such, many people have chosen to use their in-game islands to commemorate significant moments in their lives, including weddings, graduations, and birthdays.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been a blessing to many over the last year and a half. The tranquil island life within Nintendo’s life simulation game was the perfect escape from the constant and often worrying news in recent times. However, with island living comes island visitors. And one visitor, Gulliver, is among one of the more obscure found within Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Unlike other characters that players can come across during their playthrough, Gulliver will never actually set up home on an island. Rather, he will periodically wash up on players’ shores in an unconscious state and, when awake, he will need help to contact his crew.
And this is exactly what happened to one unsuspecting couple in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. However, rather than Gulliver simply washing up during a pleasant stroll around their idyllic island setting, this time the seagull managed to get himself swept up right into the middle of their wedding anniversary celebrations. As shared by vk2021 on Reddit, the bride revealed that, with her husband, she had recreated their wedding day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, to mark their first year of marriage together. However, amongst the delicately placed seating and floral arch, lies a passed-out Gulliver, slightly marring an otherwise picturesque scene.
Thankfully, the couple saw the funny side of their precious moment within Animal Crossing: New Horizons being gate-crashed by Gulliver, and instead simply labeled him as being drunk, fitting in with the rest of the celebrating guests. Despite this being an in-game coincidence, there is every chance that Gulliver has actually added a little bit of an amusing and unintentional realism to the couple’s virtual celebration.
Perhaps fortuitously given the circumstances, Gulliver does tend to leave notes and gifts for the islands’ villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons when he eventually leaves their shores. In this instance, this should maybe be passed off as an anniversary present from the seagull to the happy couple. After all, he did photobomb their special moment, it really is the least he could do.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
