Chip and Joanna Gaines celebrate their Magnolia Network launch in NYC at a fancy Polo Bar fete in Manhattan with Discovery CEO David Zaslav.
Chip and Joanna Gaines from the HGTV hit show Fixer Upper celebrated their Magnolia Network Launch in New York City. For five successful seasons, the duo helped couples find houses to renovate into their dream homes. The couple announced their plan to launch Magnolia Network in 2019, which never actually happened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, the fixer uppers have replaced the DIY Network with the launch of Magnolia Network.
Chip and Joanna brought in a whopping 75 million viewers after five seasons of Fixer Upper. The popular couple made the dreams of many families come true, but they revealed they needed to tend to their own family. Chip and Joanna shared that they felt exhausted after six years of filming the show while raising their children. The couple took a break from the show for a year to reconsider if working with HGTV still fulfilled them.
According to Page Six, the Fixer Upper couple celebrated the launch of Magnolia Network last week in New York City. Guests supporting the launch showed up to the Polo Bar in Manhattan. Magnolia network is available through Discovery +. This would make sense why Discovery CEO David Zaslav was also spotted at the Polo Bar fete. Others in attendance were: Allison Page, Clint Harp, Abner Ramirez, Amanda Sudano and Andrew Zimmern. Of course, a flower wall with the network’s logo was set up for guests to snap selfies and group pictures. For Chip and Joanna, the celebration did not end at the private event. The pair was seen splurging in designer stores. Joanna, in particular, was spotted at Roman and Williams Guild, where a source said she stayed for at least an hour.
Even after their hiatus, Chip and Joanna still have a passion for what they do on Fixer Upper. According to the Magnolia Network website, the couple will continue filming new episodes of Fixer Upper Welcome Home. Magnolia network seems to be the perfect streaming service for lovers of craft and storytelling. A few of the shows that will air include The Lost Kitchen, Homegrown, and Restoration Road With Clint Harp. Joanna and Chip are able to explore separate interests, as they each have their own shows on the networks. Chip can be seen in The Courage to Run With Chip Gaines and Gabe Grunewald, while Joanna will take on a new role in Magnolia Table With Joanna Gaines.
The Fixer Upper couple pulled in 19 million viewers each week on the HGTV show. Although Magnolia Network is only available through Discovery +, the couple is sure to pull in fans with their diversity of shows. With the launch of their new network and raising their children, Chip and Joanna Gaines sure make it look easy.
