The Chris’ long battle has been reignited with a 40th birthday salvo sent by Chris Hemsworth.
The Thor actor gave Captain America Chris Evans a birthday salute on June 13 with an Instagram photo of the smiling Hemsworth alongside a different Chris: Guardians of the Galaxy star, Chris Pratt.
Happy 40th birthday Chris Evans, you will always be number one in my book, Hemsworth wrote.
The photo appears to be a behind-the-scenes shot from the set of the movie Thor: Love And Thunder, in which both Hemsworth, 37, and Pratt, 41, are set to reprise their Marvel roles.
Hemsworth’s birthday post reestablishes the long-simmering tension over Hollywood’s greatest Chris, between Hemsworth, Evans, Pratt, and Star Trek actor Chris Pine.
The Chris’ battle took a new turn in January, when Pratt’s father-in-law, Arnold Schwarzenegger, mistakenly referred to him as Evans during an IG charity live event hosted by Pratt.
Hi Chris Evans, oh no Chris Evans, sorry I’m going to screw this up from the start. Chris Pratt, said Schwarzenegger. I didn’t look at the reference cards the right way. I’m sorry about that. I should know your name. That is sure. My favorite son-in-law.
I’m your only son-in-law, Pratt said.
The battle was apparently over when Hemsworth and Pratt had the final say in 2018 when the duo sat down with USA TODAY.
They should stop bringing Chris Evans into the discussion, Hemsworth said.
I think at the end of the day, it’s a 50/50 tie, Pratt said. I love America, but we already have a captain.
His name is Chris Evans and it really pisses me off, Hemsworth added.
