Draisait scored two points, Oilers best Jets 3-2, splitting 2 game set

Edmonton, Alberta (AP)-Leon Draisaitl scored two goals and Edmonton Oilers defeated Winnipeg 3-2 on Wednesday night to complete a two-game, one-set division with Jets.

It was a choppy and confusing game, said Dave Tippett, director of the Oilers. He said, I will take two points and move on.

Jesse Purjuyarbi also scored the Oilers, and Connor McDavid had two assists, including 500 points from the NHL.

It’s always easy as long as you can play the leader. According to McDavid, it’s difficult to keep up with the game. But I thought they did a good job of staying and doing it again. And I thought we did a good job of keeping them arm-length.

The referee’s whistle repeatedly blew through an empty stand at Rogers Place on Wednesday. Edmonton was penalized five times and Winnipeg whistled six times.

A large number of calls obstructed the flow on the ice, according to Dryzeitl.

I think it was a difficult game for both sides. Obviously, two points are two points, so that’s the most important thing.

Mark Scheifele and Neal Pionk scored Jets.

Winnipeg’s Connor Hellebuyk stopped 27 out of 30. Mike Smith made 33 saves for Edmonton.

Jets is a good team. Congratulations to them, Smith said. There are some really good players out there and they are trying to create opportunities. You obviously have a game with him. Just trying to stop at that important moment, we were able to get on board and be chased early tonight. It’s always helpful.

It was the second tight match for both teams. Jets won 6-5 on Monday.

Winnipeg pulled out Hellebuick with 51 seconds remaining in an equalizing attempt in the second half, but Jets couldn’t beat Smith to force him to work overtime.

Note: Winnipeg was one in five in power play. The Oilers were 1 in 6 people. Shyfere has a point streak of 8 games. He has 5 goals and 7 assists in the final stretch.

Until next time

Jet: In Vancouver on Friday and Sunday nights.
