DWTS: September Premiere Date Announced For Milestone 30th Season

A premiere date for the milestone 30th season of Dancing With the Stars has been announced. The dancing competition will return in late September.

A September premiere date has been announced for the milestone 30th season of Dancing With The Stars. Last fall, the dancing competition, like many other shows, was forced to make numerous alterations to its production due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Amongst those changes was the elimination of a live studio audience, as well as a brand new host, Tyra Banks.

Many longtime viewers were not impressed by the many changes season 29 brought to the show. Even professional dancer, Val Chmerkovskiy, called the season a “shadow of itself due to the lack of a live audience. Aside from the missing audience members, viewers were also extremely angered by the sudden change in host. They were not impressed by Tyra’s hosting skills, or lack thereof. Unfortunately for them, Tyra will be returning to the show for the upcoming season.

While fans may not be excited that Tyra will be continuing on as host, they can now be excited over an official premiere date. The milestone 30th season of Dancing With the Stars will premiere on Monday, September 20, according to TV Line. It will air at 8 PM ET on ABC and will most likely be two hours long. The show’s premiere will be the first in ABC’s fall lineup. Rumors claim the cast of celebrities who will be taking on the ballroom will be announced sometime in late August. However, fans have already begun making predictions of who they would love to see on the show. Since it is a milestone season, many are assuming and hoping that some big names will step foot onto the ballroom this fall.

The cast is not the only missing detail from the new season of Dancing With the Stars. With longtime judge Carrie Ann Inaba recently taking a medical leave from her co-hosting spot on The Talk, it is unclear if she will be returning to the judges’ panel this fall. Head judge Len Goodman was unable to travel last fall due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With travel restrictions lifting, there is a possibility Len will return to the show. Derek Hough will be returning to the judges’ panel as well. While it has already been confirmed that Tyra will be returning, she also teased potential “twists and turns for fans to look forward to. Tyra did not even know if the show would bring back a live audience. However, she claims the show will more than likely opt-out of having an audience for the second year in a row due to safety reasons.

Now that a premiere date has officially been announced for season 30 of Dancing With The Stars, more details regarding the season will slowly start to roll out as well. Perhaps some of the fans’ dream cast members will be asked to join the dancing competition this year.
