Jair Valtierra

Jair Valtierra dream of fighting in the US could be soon a reality

The first to handle the business of the undefeated prospect was when he confronted Jarson Aguilar at the Gimnacio FIT Center in Mexico City on Friday night. The 10-round junior welterweight beauty will be streamed live on Fit TV in the United States and TVC Deportis in Mexico (11 a.m. ET).

Valtierra (13-0, knockout), who live in Lyon, Mexico, defeated Aurelio Hernandez by a unanimous decision in the latest fight in June. In his previous fight on March 13 in Mexico City, the Voltaires unanimously defeated Jose Eduardo Rizo. The fight, televised live on Telemundo, was the last “Telemundo in the Box” broadcast before the release of the global COVID-19 epidemic suspended or canceled cards for the next few months.

The 19-year-old was scheduled to return in December against former City Champion Humberto “Chuikita” Gonzalez’s promotional card in collaboration with All Star Boxing and Production Deportivas against Aguilar of Mexico City. The card was canceled after all sports events were suspended as soon as the local government covered the entire region in the case of COID-19.

Felix “Tuto” Jabala, president of All Star Boxing, signed Valtierera to a promotional deal in December. In his eyes, Jabala reminded him of a one-time undefeated fighter who once fought under the banner of All-Star Boxing.

We don’t want to go him too fast, we want to do it intelligently. This fight on Friday will serve him as a means of watching his progress, that Aguilera is an aggressive, fierce fighter who comes to fight. We will expect a lot from him because we are getting the paperwork for his visa, so he can make his debut in the United States in May at Telemundo in the box.

Aguilar (10-5, 3KO), who lives in Mexico City, has not fought since March 2019, defeating Jose Andred Periban in a 10-round unanimous decision. He has split his last eight out

In the co-feature, Mexico City junior middleweight Diego Carmona (-1-1, OKO) will face off against Mauricio Estradar (5-2, 1KO) of Apattingen, Mexico in an eight-round fight.

Hard-hit Ernesto Salcido (11-0, 9k) will face Julio Cesar Juarez (4-6, 1k) in an eight-round match between Mexico City Junior Featherweight.

Junior featherweight Miguel Angel Ramirez (-0-0-1, KKO) will play the match against Jonathan Torres (4-3) in a six-round fight.
