Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kim Kardashian opened up about what she wants to change about her parenting style with her four children.
Star of Keeping Up With the Kardashians Kim Kardashian has some things she wants to change about her parenting style with her four children. Kim recently opened up about how she aims to be a bit “stricter” with her two daughters and two sons after realizing that she often spoils them. Kim is raising her kids as a single mom for the first time after filing for divorce from Kanye West. The two have gotten to a more peaceful place with their co-parenting after spending months barely speaking to each other.
Kim’s divorce filing was expected after the media spent months teasing their impending split. Kim and Kanye had been living separate lives and were barely speaking to each other ahead of the petition. The couple agreed to joint custody of North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm and have managed to work out an arrangement where their kids get to enjoy quality time with both of their parents. Recently Kim has hinted at how well things are going with Kanye by showing up to both of his Donda listening parties wearing matching colored outfits with the billionaire rap/fashion mogul. Now, as Kim adjusts to life post-Kanye, it looks like she’s focusing on becoming more stern with her kids.
The mother of four opened up in a new issue of Parents magazine and revealed how she’s working on “saying no” to her children. “When my kids want something, typically candy, they give me this look directly in my eyes that cuts right through me,” Kim confessed. “I usually give in and give them what they want.” But she credits her naturally calm attitude as her “superpower” when it comes to her role as a mother. “I’m naturally very calm, which I think translates into my parenting,” Kim said. “I don’t get super stressed or impatient, which I think is definitely a superpower when you have three kids age five and under running around.”
Raising her four kids is also nostalgic for Kim, as it reminds her of growing up with her own siblings. “They get along so well and have so much love for each other. It reminds me of growing up with Kourtney, Khloé, and Rob,” Kim shared. “There’s something so special about having a big family, and I’m happy my babies get that experience the way I did.” The Kardashian-Jenners are known for being a close-knit family. The siblings are so close that it branched off to their kids, with the group of cousins often spending time together.
When it comes to raising her children, Kim’s favorite part is watching them grow into their own people with their own signature personalities. “It’s so amazing to watch my kids grow and develop into their own people,” Kim gushed. “I get the kids outside as much as possible, and I’m good at creating activities for them. They’re always playing sports or working on projects.” Tapping into their natural passions and hobbies is also something Kanye encourages for their kids. The Yeezy founder studied art as a child, and his talents rubbed off on their eldest daughter North. It looks Kim has the single mom thing covered. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star just mind be adding a little more discipline to her parenting routine.
