The Columbus crew hosted the event at the Gillette Stadium on Sunday as the New England Revolution returned to the country in search of a two-game winless series.
The first loss of the season to a 2-0 win over Toronto FC was a 1-1 draw with Neil Columbus Philadelphia on Wednesday.
The revolution rallied against the tough team, losing 2-0 to Nashville from Philadelphia on Wednesday.
But Bruce Arena is hopeful that his team will come out with three points after a five-minute lead.
They are expected to maintain their 100% record this season at Gillette Stadium, where they have already won twice in 2021 and collected their only clean sheet after a 1-0 win over DC United.
New England did not face Columbus in any way in 2020 and they are hoping that the defending MLS Cup champions will change their fortunes, having not conceded a single goal to Reeves in the previous three regular seasons.
Having not won his recent two-game road trip, there are still some positive signs that New England have a chance to win the title this season.
