SpaceX launches 4 astronauts to space station, nails rocket landing

SpaceX just launched its third astronaut mission in less than a year.

NASA has recently taken that certification a step further, approving the launches of crews that contract the Prillafalon Falcon 9 drag capsules in the first phase and the certifications of preflow crew dragon capsules, and today we saw the effects of that decision: the effort flew in Demo-2 and this special fly 9 Crew-1 was also launched in the first phase.

NASA’s first manned space program, Mercury, sent a total of six people into space in the early years of the space age. With today’s ascent, SpaceX has put 10 people into orbit in less than 12 months.

Her team worked hard to qualify both the Falcon 9 and the Crew Dragon to fly multiple times with SpaceX. When NASA and SpaceX partnered to launch the first astronauts, the agency needed SpaceX to use new Falcons and Dragons on each launch. NASA has lobbied SpaceX to reuse both vehicles in the crew launch.
