Who are CSKA Sofia?

The most decorated side in Bulgarian football, CSKA has won a record 31 Bulgarian titles and 21 Bulgarian Cups.

They’re also the only Bulgarian club to have reached the semi-finals of the European Cup, in 1967 and 1982, and they also reached the semi-final of the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1989.

“The more games they are playing, the more belief they are getting. To come out here and stick to the game-plan in the way we did, is testament to them. CSKA are a very good team. We defended brilliantly and took the chance we got.

“Certainly, it gives us a little more belief going into next Thursday. For us to get through is going to take an effort from everyone.”
